[Hidden-tech] audio recording software for Mac

While I occasionally struggle with the small screen on the H4 (the newer H4n
has a larger screen), I've not had difficulty getting great recordings with
it. The main issue is making sure that the "Input" setting is set properly
to either "MIC" or "IN1&2", depending on whether you are using the built-in
mikes or the external inputs (though if you are recording in 4-channel mode
it uses both mikes and both inputs).

The only time we have gotten blank recordings is when we 1) neglected to
check the Input setting and it was set to "IN1&2" when we were trying to do
a mike recording; 2) neglected to click the Record button a second time
after putting it in standby mode (flashing red).

>From my own experience and the experience of other Zoom users that I know,
it is most definitely the best recording device by far in it's price range.
If you don't want spend more, it's a very versatile recorder that will
produce excellent recordings. Like anything thing involved in sound
recording you have to learn the options, such as the various input levels
and how to turn on the built-in limiter, but I'm very please with what I've
been able to do with my H4 during the nearly 3 years that I've had it.
