[Hidden-tech] Office VPN technology

I have never had much luck with VPN clients on windows systems even when
paying for packages.
I have used some router based VPN's and they generally work much better and
are easier to setup, even more so using the same boxes and firmware levels.
However, they are slow until you get into big $ items.
If it were my call, I would point out all the advantages of RDP and firmly
suggest that as the best route to go.

Normally this is what I would do, is to set up the RDP. However, they are
leaving their best computers at home and wish to use the files off of the
server as though they were on the same network. I would have use Gotomypc
or RDP like I use for my other clients, but I don't think this will work
well in this situation.

So I'm thinking VPN for their Outlook/Exchange and their files. The only
problem with a lot of the main brand VPNs is that they require unique
clients.

Although I'm seeing that staples now sells Cisco branded VPN routers and the
cisco client was pretty good......
