Hi David:

In your line of work ... surely the Archangel Gabriel would have warned you about the upcoming apocalypse to your site.

Maybe some of the ghosts that you evicted felt that it would be appropriate revenge if they took away your home page like you sent them out of their homes?

Maybe your web site is a battle ground between the trolls and the unicorns?

Surely you could just send some pixies out to go fetch it back ... or do they get lost in cyber space?

P.S.

ISPs keep regular backups of their client’s sites. You can ask for a restore to a date before this loss.

Or, if a page has been up for a while, you can go to Archive.org where they have copies of pages going back many years, although when I checked, they hadn't spidered your site since 2008.

Hey Web Mavens... here is a mystery for you.

I have a WP site/blog at www.HouseHealing.com set to open on a static 'HOME' page rather than the blog. It's been just fine for months.

Yesterday the HOME page was gone. People landed on a 404 page. In the WP dashboard the HOME page was completely gone.

Other than someone hacking the login and doing that, is there any way you can think of that would happen? What can I do to protect it?
