[Hidden-tech] email marketing experiences

Hi Phil,

I'm using Mailchimp mostly because it's free up to 500 subscribers. Good way
to keep costs down while you're not getting too much out of your list.

The sort of "gold standard" among the hardcore internet marketers (who make
ALL their money off their lists) seems to be aweber. There's probably a
certain amount of "well that's what all the other people are using, so there
must be a reason" but I have heard they work really hard with the mail
providers to make sure their stuff gets through.

Both of these are of the double opt-in variety, which means there's an extra
step to subscribe, but it also means mail through those services is less
likely to be labeled spam.

You really probably can't go wrong with most of the better known ones. Hope
that helps,

Terran
