[Hidden-tech] lacie extreme disk error messages

Hi Tom,

I recommend Disk Warrior. Try running that to see if you get the same
errors. In my experience, Apple's utility can't seem to handle certain
types of file structure problems.

I had a similar file structure problem on a EZQuest Firewire drive
several years ago. Sometimes sectors of the drive get corrupted and
the leaf record count doesn't match up. If you go forward with the
rebuild, you lose data. I did, it fixed the problem and the drive
worked, but I lost some data. I backed up the rescued files and then
re-formatted the drive. But you might have better look with Disk
Warrior.

Btw, do you have the required minimum 10% of free space available on
the drive? Does that rule still apply on terabyte drives?

Good luck,
Kimo
