If you have Excel, you can use the drawing tools and the flowchart AutoShapes. Use the Connectors to connect the flowchart and the lines will stay connected as you move the diagram around. This uses Excel as a drawing canvas-way better than the same tools in Word or PowerPoint since they assume you will be creating a page or a slide, both of which have limited size. Excel assumes your spreadsheet will be as large as you need it without regard to printing. The drawings have no relationship to the underlying cells so you are not limited in that regard. I usually turn off the gridlines to make it easy to see the flowchart. You will have problems printing it if you create a really large flowchart, but as a working document, I find it very helpful.
