Mr. Martin: A friend passed this along for me to comment, as I'm a web person. To be blunt, it's wrong and unethical. How would Google vote on your poll? More importantly, if I was a client and paid for this service (which is offered free by its originator) and discovered it was repurposed, regurgitated and that you just moved a few words around and applied your logo to it, I would be furious and terminate my relationship with you. Not only would you be compromising yourself, but you would be compromising those that you "sold" it to. Re-packaging and soliciting free services has serious consequences....for everyone. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [Hidden-tech] Need some feedback from the web designers/developers on the list From: Doug Martin <douglasemartin at gmail.com> Date: Thu, February 04, 2010 1:36 pm To: hidden-discuss at lists.hidden-tech.net ** Be sure to fill out the survey/skills inventory in the member's area. ** If you did, we all thank you. ------------------------------ Hey folks, I've been lurking on the list for a while. I'm a web developer up in Shelburne Falls working for a company in NYC. I have an idea for a side project and I'd like to get some feedback from the web designers/developers on the list. The idea is to build a service that lets you resell simplified white label Google Analytics reports to your clients. You could add your logo and some text and customize the data presented to the client. The reports would go out over email based on a schedule you (or the client) sets and be available via third party website like how Campaign Monitor works. So that I don't add noise to this list I've setup a short poll at: http://dougmartin.wufoo.com/forms/white-label-google-analytics-reports/ Thanks again for any feedback. - Doug ------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Hidden-discuss mailing list - home page: http://www.hidden-tech.net Hidden-discuss at lists.hidden-tech.net You are receiving this because you are on the Hidden-Tech Discussion list.
