Hi Christine, There is only one way for you to get the answer you need: you can try an iPhone for 15 days and then you can return it if it does not work for you. I had a similar question. So I bought an iPhone from the AT&T store in Northampton and had them give me a new phone number. I then used the iPhone in all of the areas where I live, work, and play. When I was satisfied that it would work for me, I went back to the AT&T store and had them port my number over from Verizon, effectively cancelling my Verizon account.
