[Hidden-tech] Cell phone reception in Halifax, VT

Hi all,

A friend just moved to Halifax, VT (next to Brattleboro) and she is not
getting reception with her AT&T service. She has a Samsung SGH-a237 phone.

The folks at AT&T in Greenfield told her that there is fine service up
there, but now, after having a signed contract, she can't get calls or make
any. Phone says "No Network".

Can someone suggest what she needs to do, ie does a different carrier have
better service in that area, or does she need a different phone. Also, given
the situation, should AT&T let her out of her contract? Does anyone have
experience with this?
