Matt, No Android yet on AT&T and I wouldn't expect the DROID there anytime soon. You might want to read Walt Mossberg's review of the device in the WSJ (doesn't require a subscription for his articles). Somewhat more sober than the slobbering fanboy response to this device from places like BoyGeniusReport and Gizmodo. I love my BlackBerry but it has real limitations, especially if you're not on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server. I've got more thoughts about this on my blog at http://2muchtech.blogspot.com/ Joseph __________________ Joseph Steig | more info at http://www.steig.com joseph at steig.com | Direct: 617-500-7376 On Thu, Nov 5, 2009 at 9:18 AM, Matt Lampiasi <mattl at florenceit.net> wrote: > ** Be sure to fill out the survey/skills inventory in the member's area. > ** If you did, we all thank you. > > > > Hi again HT > > a friend of mine gave me the itch for a moto-droid<http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/28/motorola-droid-first-hands-on/>. > since i'm not really up on cell phones i thought i'd ask. is there something > similar (android, with the large screen and physical keyboard) on at&t that > people like or can expect? this phone looks incredible and has everything > I'd want in a phone. as a blackberry user i absolutely can NOT use a iphone > onscreen keyboard but I absolutely also cannot stand web browsing on the > blackberry. the droid seems the best of both worlds plus a bigger screen > than iphone. > > my at&t contract is just about into the second year so it probably wouldn't > make sense to switch unless there was something on AT&T. plus my wife is > happy with her iphone. otherwise i will wait until end of term and shop > around again. at the pace these things keep flooding the market there will > probably be a new droid by next year anyhow. too bad the storm 2<http://na.blackberry.com/eng/devices/blackberrystorm/>didnt have a physical keyboard. oh well, web browsing really is secondary to > messaging for my needs, but it would be nice to have the option to do it > with ease. then again maybe the new blackberry web browser ive read is in > development will really be a nice upgrade to my existing phone. > > -- > Thank you, > Matt Lampiasi > > Florence I.T. - A Community IT shop. > Note our new number: 413-584-3239 > solar powered online @ florenceit.net > Join me on twitter <http://twitter.com/florenceit>. > > Getting our resourceful monthly newsletter<http://florenceit.net/sign-up-for-our-newsletter-for-free-it-tips-news-specials-and-offers>? > > > _______________________________________________ > Hidden-discuss mailing list - home page: http://www.hidden-tech.net > Hidden-discuss at lists.hidden-tech.net > > You are receiving this because you are on the Hidden-Tech Discussion list. > If you would like to change your list preferences, Go to the Members > page on the Hidden Tech Web site. > http://www.hidden-tech.net/members > -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
