[Hidden-tech] Advice needed: Time Capsule crash

If you don't need the wireless function, you can certainly get far less
expensive external hard drives that may be more reliable.  But, if this
thing is covered, then my advice is to let Apple make good on the warranty.
 I can't speak to the data on the drive, however.  I think the only way to
find out would be to pull the drive from the unit and see if you can read it
with a different controller (external hard drive enclosure, for example).
 It might not be the drive, but the firmware of the Time Capsule itself, in
which case you *should* be able to read it once it's installed on a
different external device (if it can be easily removed, that is).  If it *is
* readable, then you can just wipe out the drive at that point.
Some more Mac specific folks may have some better Mac specific advice.
