[Hidden-tech] Web Hosting

Hi Will,

I can recommend Rackspace as well. I have been a dedicated hosting customer
of Rackspace for several years now and their support and service has been
outstanding.

They also have a new service for expandable individual web sites in addition
to their previous dedicated hosting offerings.

Wow, there's quite a range between rackspace and godaddy. Are they looking
for dedicated or shared servers? It sounds like they want dedicated servers
if they're looking for OS level access, that can get quite expensive with
replication and mirroring.

I would actually recommend Rackspace, we've had great luck with them, and
while they are more expensive than a lot of bargain basement hosting
providers, they really have excellent service.

Hello

A company that I provide technology advice for is planning to "break away"
from their original web design and hosting company. The website design is
static and they are looking to break away from the hosting company since
they don't provide sufficient OS and FTP level access for the current needs.
I am looking for a vendor that will offer services similar to rackspace.com
or godaddy.com. The website is ASP.NET with PHP and MS SQL. The current list
of services includes database replication and mirroring, daily backups,
virus protection, and security/scripting updates.

Please let me know if anyone can suggest a Connecticut River Valley based
hosting company or other US based company.

Thanks

Will
