now that the door is open, I'll happily tout Drupal anyday but sunday (and give it to you on Sunday!) Drupal is just as comprehensive as Joomla. It is also modular but it places a great deal more emphasis on cataloging, in my opinion. As a wannabe taxonomist I value the features that allow me to tag and catagorize my content in ways that make SEO of my content optimal. I am pretty sure there are "off the shelf" modules that will fulfil your requirements. Any other systems to consider or other developers to work with? Thanks The features needed include: A. An online forum, but not overly complicated for the user. B. Can manage free forum memberships. C. An add-on for billing paid forum memberships, including recurring billing and reminders. D. Creates a database of users that can be downloaded, or ideally can be exported or synced with SalesForce.com or ESP (e-newsletters etc.). E. Can manage a variety of paid listings and advertising. F. Can create an online directory. G. Other functions might be needed later. Need to discuss.
