[Hidden-tech] Direct deposit for entrepreneurs

I've found that the accounting for my business and personal life are best served when my business writes me a paycheck. 
Even as a business owner, I am then able to direct deposit my paycheck.
It also means that I have the fun of threatening do "dock my pay" in the mirror when I am slacking! :)

So where should I be looking for these higher interest rates on my DD check?

For instance, does an electronic transfer of funds from another account quality as a direct deposit? Or does it have to be a paycheck or government check?
