[Hidden-tech] up a creek??--Outlook 11 has mail format option to edit with Word 2003 but Dell laptop loaded with Word 12

What effective, convenient, inexpensive, hopefully convenient-tech action
will let me apply Word as the editor on my nice new Dell laptop? The system
came with Outlook ver 11 and Word ver 12 running under Windows 7, but
Outlook's tool option to click "Use MS Word 2003 to edit email" is greyed
out. Is there a compatibility download for this scenario that doesn't
create snarky unintended side effects? So far, even this email seems shaky
on its font control.

Thanks for your thoughts when you've a moment, and excellent health, clear
vision, sure wisdom, and good luck going forward into next year.
