Hi Jeff, Well, that does sound like a chore, doesn't it? Chopping it up 140 characters at a time. Sorry, I'm not writing to answer your question. Rather, I'm asking what good providing 140 character chunks of the chapter, most of which would be cut mid-sentence (I assume), would do? I suppose that if the tweets are kept in sequence in the publisher's twitter account, the entire text -- if indexed as a whole by search engines -- might yield some obscure value. But you could get that off of a web site, straightaway. I would think the delivery period may be unbearable to the publisher's followers, especially if this becomes a common occurrence. If sent in one sitting, one after the other, each follower's twitter feed would be plastered with the one publisher's tweets. Separately, I suppose the truncated segments could be made into a game of sorts, to collect and assemble the entire chapter if they're sent separately. Don't think I'd have the patience, time, or interest to reconnect them all. Interesting idea. I'd be interested to hear what your concept is behind this marketing idea. It occurs to me that you could use an Applescript to count the text, and maybe even select and send. Here are some Applescripts that grab your tweet text and feed the tweets to Twitter in an automated fashion. Pretty cool. http://macscripter.net/viewtopic.php?id=26526 Here is another discussion about counting text using Applescript: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20070730101510623 For myself, the feeling of connection my followers make with me through my tweets -- which tends to help presell your service for you before meeting them in the flesh -- is too valuable to risk with this kind of a promotional scheme, novel as it may be technically.
