[Hidden-tech] Converting from PC to iMac

Naaz -

You have a couple of options. One of which is to run Parallels
Desktop<http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/>,
which would allow you to run Windows on a Mac. I've not personally done
this, but I've heard good things. I think you'd also have to purchase a
Windows OS as well. You should be able to run Quicken this way until you
have a decent version of Quicken for Mac as well as your Microsoft Office
suite. On the other hand, what would it hurt to push the old PC into
February rather than to incur the time and expense of Parallels?

As for all of your Office docs, you can always download and install
NeoOffice <http://www.neooffice.org/neojava/en/index.php>. This is a
freebie based upon OpenOffice.org, but is geared towards the Mac. It is
free and has compatibility with Office documents (I'm not sure about the
Office 2007 document format, however). I've used it and it is very good.
It's never a bad idea to have another office suite around for good measure.
