Have a look at http://www.deepsoft.com/

This is a theme that is *heavily* hacked, using Techozoic Fluid as the
original basis. Techozoic Fluid was vaguely close to what I wanted: I
copied Techozoic Fluid's files and then hacked away at the PHP code to
get what I wanted: a masthead (but with dynamic content (page title,
sub-title, Google search box), a navigation bar top and bottom (no
dropdowns), Google Adsense leaderboard and at the top of the right
sidebar. I have both fixed and variable additional ads on the right.
The left (main) column has the content, in some cases with download
links. I have a special page for screen shots, since they tend to be
wider that would otherwise fit with the right sidebar, the right sidebar
is ommited for the screen shot pages.

You might want to consider starting with Techozoic Fluid and rehacking
it to suit.

I can bundle up my theme, if you want. There is a pile of extra PHP
code that is rather specific to my pages (stuff involving stuff like
Google Adsense, extra ad buttons/text on the right, and extensive stuff
relating to the download and screenshot pages), so you most likely don't
want to use my code as is, but if you are interested, I can make it
available for you to look at.
