I've recently started using Google Voice, their unified messaging solution. You get a free phone number -- there's a large choice of area codes, though no 212 numbers are available. Darn. When anyone rings that number all your phones ring -- your land line, your cell, and any other phones. If you don't answer, Google's voice mail kicks in and emails you the message - with a transcript of the message in the body of the email (with creepily good voice recognition!). Here's a page that describes all the features: http://www.google.com/googlevoice/about.html I've been using it for a couple of weeks now, and I have to say that it's really really cool. Okay, I'm a little creeped out by the fact that Google is now not only hosting my company's emails, documents, group calendars and web analytics, but my telephone system, too. But there's nothing stopping any other company from offering all these features for free, is there? -- Maria Maria Korolov Technology columnist, Securities Industry News Editor & publisher, Hypergrid Business (hypergridbusiness.com) President, Trombly Ltd. 508-443-1130 | maria at tromblyltd.com Sent from Granby, Massachusetts, United States On Wed, Aug 19, 2009 at 12:15 PM, Lynn Goodhue <lrgoodhue at yahoo.com> wrote: > ** Be sure to fill out the survey/skills inventory in the member's area. > ** If you did, we all thank you. > > > > Hi Hidden-Tech-ers, > > I am wondering how/where to get a cell phone signal repeater/amplifier so > my cell phone can actually make calls from my home office.
