I've used VOIP from tmobile on my blackberry for about the last year and love it. Like any VOIP system or even cell service for that matter every once in a while you hit a glitch, but it works great. I'd used Lingo for VOIP before that on a business line. We use an online fax service with Intermedia, it's only like $4.95/month and we can send and receive faxes by email. It's actually a million times better than normal faxing. Fax over voip is not reliable. Most voip systems will add a good deal of compression which drops a lot of the fax signal, and even if they don't use compression it will add delays in communication that aren't normally present in a normal phone call which can interfere with the fax system's timing. It does work in some instances, but expect increased difficulty sending and receiving faxes. Fax can be enough trouble without adding voip to the mix. If you want to use voip for your business then I would suggest using one of the internet fax services (I've had good luck with myfax.com in the past) to send and receive faxes. You can then receives faxes through their website, or as pdf attachments to emails, and you can send faxes by attaching the documents to emails or through their website. _______________________________________________ Hidden-discuss mailing list - home page: http://www.hidden-tech.net Hidden-discuss at lists.hidden-tech.net You are receiving this because you are on the Hidden-Tech Discussion list.
