[Hidden-tech] ACT! vs. SalesForce

yes, Zoho is nice, and free for up to 3 users (I think). A pale shadow of
Salesforce but nevertheless decent enough. Has some interesting sales and
inventory features that I've playing with a bit.
A big dividing line with CRM software (Customer Relationship Management) is
whether they allow flexible many-to-many relationships. Salesforce does.
Goldmine mostly does. DayLite does. ACT does NOT as far as I've been able to
tell. Zoho doesn't. Why is this useful? If you really want to build a map of
your relationships, a key feature for sales and relationship managment in
general is knowing who referred you to who. If you buy a CRM, make sure you
can not only have a One-Many relationship between Companies (or Accounts)
and Individuals (or Contacts, or whatever they are called in your system).
But make sure you can also link Individuals to multiple Companies and to
other Individuals. You can create these links in Salesforce, Goldmine,
DayLite. You can't, again as far as I can tell, in ACT and you can't in
Zoho. Don't know about Sugar in this respect.
