Jeff,
with a gmail account ...you could set up an
"igoogle<http://www.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=20324> "
page which allows you to add a zillion "gadgets", one of which could be a
running list...google docs or google lists would achieve the same thing
(accessible from anywhere)

i think the igoogle home page is one of the most underrated features of
having a gmail account...

try it, you'll like it....
