[Hidden-tech] ACT! vs. SalesForce

Regarding your question on integration of SF with Google Apps: the
integration has future potential but so far is so-so.
The integration with Google AdWords looks cool but I haven't tried it.

Sync with Gmail only works for outbound email. You can click on the users
email from within their SF record, or from within Gmail you can cc: a
special SF email to get it into your SF record. I'm looking at a special
plug-in that has a better integration with Gmail but there is an extra cost
and separate step to integrate.

Sync with calendar etc. require additional plug-ins (from Appirio).

I am sure others have varied experiences. From my personal experience,
Daylite (a Mac CRM) is not so good and other CRM's for Mac are very limited.
SF is a great CRM and has an amazing amount of plug-ins (over 800), though
the plug-ins can cost extra money and implementation time/cost.

The main downside of SF is the ongoing costs.
