I use Dragon NaturallySpeaking for hands-free computing and I am looking for a referral for a voice/speech coach. In order to get good recognition from speech recognition software I constantly tweak my hardware/software. I am confident that I know the tricks to tweak my system, but I have less control over how I talk. I have worked with speech pathologists/therapists who have classified (or diagnosed) me with something called a Glottal Fry - which I believe is more of a style of speech than a condition. I hope that working with someone who is knowledgeable about singing or public speaking can help me listen better to how I sound so I cam modify my speech for better performance with DNS. Please contact me if you know anyone who teaches singing, public speaking, or perhaps linguistics that might be able to help. I'm also interested to know if there are any other Dragon NaturallySpeaking users out here in the Valley. I have been a member of the Boston voice users group sense 2003, and I have gotten a lot out of talking with other DNS users. If there is interest, I'm happy to organize a user group in this area.
