[Hidden-tech] macbook, parallels, xp vs. vista

thank you all for the excellent advice.

I guess I should back up up a step or two and confirm some things first.

Do I need Office for Mac or Office 2007 for PC (w/ Parallels or Boot Camp)
to work with MS Excel, Word, and/or PowerPoint?

It seems that I could use NeoOffice to do this.

For the mail client, I like the business contact manager feature in Outlook,
which I see as 'CRM light' and which I do not have yet. I really appreciate
the automatic groupings of the history of communication with a contact this
provides.

Is this mail/CRM functionality available in Leopard 10.5 Mac Mail, Mozilla
Thunderbird, or Entourage?

If not, then the simplest solution seems to be to be to use Boot Camp
(already installed) with MS Office 2007 Small Business or Pro (for PC) OR
use a 3rd party software with Mac Mail suggested on a Mac Forum: "You could
look at the third-party product called Organize Pro -
VersionTracker<http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx/>or
MacUpdate <http://www.macupdate.com/>.

Also possibly the new product, Bento, which is an inexpensive but
sophisticated database application from FileMaker that does some integration
with Address Book and iCal. Demo is available at
VersionTracker<http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx/>or
MacUpdate <http://www.macupdate.com/>. "

Sincerely,
Andrew
