[Hidden-tech] can't copy??

hello, all
i have a new small wireless aluminum apple keyboards.  I love its
portability and feel, etc...however, I can't do the ole "command" + C to
copy...
i can go up to the edit menu and copy and paste that way...but can't copy
using the shortcut...
the "c" key works just fine (obviously) but the two key combo doesn't do the
trick.  Anyone have any suggestions...or is this just a faulty keyboard?
weird stuff.  thanks for any input you might have.
