[Hidden-tech] Comcast Phone Service

Of course, I just received my latest Comcast bill.
Their introductory offers are only good for a year, so it just went up $15
for me.
Instead of $69 bundled for internet and voice, it is now $43 + $44
unbundled.
Drat!

Christine,

I've been using it for a year in Northampton along with Comcast broadband
and basic cable.
It behaves just fine - indistinguishable from regular land line. This winter
lightning did take out the cable modem which was replaced without charge
within a day.

You also do get some online features which I do not use: checking your
voicemail through the web, call forwarding, blocking, getting a list of
caller-ids and calls made via a website.

Lastly, I have noticed that Comcast is quicker to actually answer customer
service calls than Verizon.

Christine,
We have it at home. It is reliable and exactly like a regular phone line.
It's also tied into our home security system and works fine.

Does anybody have experience with Comcast phone service? Is it
reliable? Have you experienced any down-time? Is call quality comparable to
traditional phone service? Any advantages or disadvantages you have seen?

Do you know if it is compatible with a home security system?

	Thanks for your opinions.
