Hi all,I am thinking about what I need for a laptop for my graphic design
work. I don't enjoy reading the trades or going to the stores, and would
much rather ask the opinions of others with personal experience.That said, I
saw this laptop on Craigslist (see description below), and am tentatively
planning to go look at it over the weekend. I've gotten a few opinions
already, but am wondering if someone has this model and if they like it. I
will be wanting to run the Adobe Creative Suite, plus Quark, and also use it
for wireless internet.

A reliable source told me this: "The MacBooks are basically upgrades of
iBooks and Powerbooks. The big difference = Intel processor (versus the
older powerpc processor). The interesting thing to know about the Intel
processor is that it runs Adobe programs (pre CS3) around 30% slower than on
the iBooks or Powerbooks. Adobe CS3 software claims to have improved the
performance slowdown that occurred in previous versions."

So, could someone tell me also of their CS3 experiences with this machine?
(Bear in mind that I am used to the speed of the G4, 450Mhz desktop I am
currently using)

Thanks for your input!

Deb Chandler

I just received a laptop through my work. I will be sad to see it go, but no
longer need it.

I purchased this MacBook from the Apple Store on 12/4/07. It is an
Apple-reconditioned model, which is why the price is quite a bit less than a
new model. Note that the laptop carries the exact same Apple warranty as a
new model.

Currently, the MacBook is running both OS X and Windows XP through Bootcamp,
but will come with all original Mac software pre-installed.

Here are the specs:

* 2.0GHz Intel Core Duo
* 2GB DDR2 SDRAM
* 60GB SATA Hard Drive
* SuperDrive (Burns DVDs and CDs)
* Built-in Webcam and Microphone
* Built-in Airport Extreme Wireless (802.11n)
* Built-in Bluetooth 2.0 Wireless
* Gigabit Ethernet
* 2 USB 2.0 Ports
* 1 Firewire 400 Port
* Mini-DVI Port
* MagSafe Power Adapter
* Glossy Screen
* OS X Tiger (10.5)
* Remote Control (for use with Front Row)
* All Original Software, Manuals, Boxes, and Packaging Materials

Additional Items Included:

* Black Leather Laptop Cover (2-piece Clip-on)
* Silicon Keyboard Cover
* Orange Belkin Laptop Case
* USB Optical Mouse

Buyer also to receive the remainder of standard 1-year AppleCare Warranty
(good through 12/08). I believe it is still eligible for Apple's extended
warranty, if so desired.

The laptop has been lovingly treated and is in excellent condition. Perfect
for the professional or student.

I will meet in a public place (mall, store, etc.) to sell. Serious inquiries
only, please. Thanks for looking!
