using a smartphone as laptop modem - Re: [Hidden-tech] Re: unlocking cell phones - how's Sprint for 3G 'roundthese parts?

What's the deal with limits on using a smartphone as a laptop modem?
There's something about the amount a data limit for mobile data using a
smartphone vs. a wireless adapter connector for 'regular' computer data
transmission?

Because if someone has an unlimited smartphone data plan, it'd be great to
use it as a mobile laptop modem even for limited use.
