Senior technician position available at an IT consulting firm based in
Northampton

 

Our firm is looking for a growing IT consulting company based in
Northampton, MA. We are looking for a talented individual with excellent
customer relationship skills and the patience to deal with any project. 

 

The right candidate will work closely with the operations manager. An
entrepreneurial attitude would be very valuable.

 

The right candidate should have working knowledge with as many of the
following technologies as possible:

 

* Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista

* Windows 2003 Server

* Active Directory administration

* Exchange 2000, 2003, 2007

* Symantec BackupExec and tape backup devices

* Routers, switches and WAPs

* Data recovery software (File Scavenger, Virtual Lab)

* Spyware removal software (Hijack This, MBAM, Spybot)

 

 

Experience with any of the following is strongly desired:

 

* SQL

* SharePoint

* PHP

* HTML

* Cisco

* Vyatta

* Asterisk

* MAC

* Hardware repair

* Virtualization (WMWare or Microsoft VM)

* BlackBerry Enterprise Server

* Unix

* Resellers such as NewEgg, TechData, CDW, Dell and HP products

* Network segmentation and static routes

* Certifications such as MCP, MCSA, MCSE, A+, Nework+ and Apple certified
are desired.

* Large project management experience is a plus.

 

Some basic tasks you should be able to perform with your current experience:

 

* Walking a user through recovering a file via VSS on a server share;

* Explaining to a customer the difference between WEP and WPA encryption;

* Connecting a Windows Mobile phone to an Exchange server;

 

Additional details:

.         Business hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. 

.         Take-home company vehicle is available. Valid driver's license
required. 

.         Health Insurance is compensated at 50% of the current rate,
individual or family plan.

.         Weekly reimbursement for business expenses such as mileage and
mobile phone.
