Hi Stacy Some laptops have problems resuming from sleep mode or hibernate. i'd suggest always shutting down your email prior to doing either it sounds like you may be getting some corruption. Also if your email is important it should be backed up, you can get directions to change the default profile location on the thunderbird support site, to make it easier so you can use whatever method you prefer for backing up. I have never heard or seen of tbird moving mail on its own.
