[Hidden-tech] Help, please--why does youtube have no sound?

For about two weeks now, when I play I youtube video I get picture 
but no sound. Videos from other sources play just fine. I can't 
imagine what could be causing only youtube to do this, and only on my 
desktop computer.. My laptop on the same wireless network can get it 
(but it has crappy sound). Anyone have an idea for me to try?

Note: I get over 300 e-mails in a typical day, not counting list 
traffic. In an effort to stay sane, I'm only checking this account 
once or twice a day--and please forgive me that I miss a lot 
(including e-mail that simply never arrives). If you have something
