Tom, The network that Julie mentioned is (1) asking for a lot of money and (2) none of the people giving testimonials can be traced to a web or video presence anywhere on the net. This is where you or Marcia might want to try Magnify.net (http://www.magnify.net) which is run by former MTV exec Steve Rosenbaum or BlipTV (http://blip.tv/) where premiere videoblogger Steve Garfield posts most of his stuff. Why mess with someone who wants to charge you money when there are highly credible, frequently trafficked sites that can give you great exposure for free. Marcia, I think Julie may have meant...and my point was... That it's hard to know the "effectiveness" of posting a video to youtube. I was making the point that it would be nice to know that you're delivering your video/your message to a specific, direct audience that is actively seeking out your video...not just some teenager who "stumbles" onto your video while searching for the latest video of a kitten doing a backflip off a porch... not that there's anything wrong with that:} This is probably what prompted Julie to mention her networking group...it offers a direct network of people who are actively seeking out professionals and videos of a certain type. -- Regards, Tom Adams Director/Owner www.reelifeproductions.com "cool digital audio/video stuff...not boring or dumb" 413.575.9707 Williamsburg, MA, USA www.youtube.com/reelife http://web.mac.com/reelifeproductions On Thu, Apr 17, 2008 at 1:40 PM, Marcia Yudkin <yudkinyudkin at yahoo.com> wrote: ** The author of this post was a Good Dobee. ** You too can help the group ** Fill out the survey/skills inventory in the member's area. ** If you did, we all thank you. --- Julie Roads <julie at writingroads.com> wrote: >> Okay - So, I have a great way to avoid the teenagers, or > any > unqualified traffic, just clicking through. Of course, > nothing is > completely foolproof. Could someone explain the "avoid the teenagers" idea to me? I don't think a lot of teenagers are going to be looking at my YouTube video, but if they did, why would that matter to me? What are you saying you need a "foolproof" guard against? I think I missed part of this conversation.... Thank you.
