I've never heard of Compendium until now, but judging from their web
site, they are billing themselves as a business blogging platform.
They look at blogging at as a marketing tool. They are web-based,
probably delivered as software as a service (as opposed to installed
locally at your business on your server). Their claim to fame appears
to be the ability structure the content for automatic search
optimization, meaning it will make it more likely your content will
be found in the search engines. Other than that, at a quick glance, I
don't see any other great differentiators.

I'm not sure how much this costs or what your goals are in terms of
blogging, but for most small businesses one of the free or low-priced
blogging platforms should suffice. This includes Typepad, Blogger and
WordPress. If your content is good, the search engines will find you
as more people click through to your blog.
