Position: Vice President and COO - Channel Business Dev
Location: Norwalk, CT. Proximity to NYC or Philadelphia is important.
Description: The position is focused on developing a distributor/reseller program and recruiting new channel partners. 

Until now, ERC has focused on direct sales and wishes to develop the small business market (employers with fewer than 2000 employees) and has elected to do so through resellers already supply services to that market. The ERC software solution will be integrated with the resellers existing solution, which will provide the reseller with an extension to its current product line. 

The initial focus will be on developing the reseller program; launching the program; and establishing relationships with existing platform providers to the targeted reseller market and gaining access to their business partners (our targeted resellers). 

The second focus will be to enroll the targeted resellers into our reseller program. After identifying the platform providers (possibly 10-15), the goal is to obtain access to their business partners (approximately 1000+) (our targeted resellers). Building the relationships with the platform providers will require some travel; building relationships with the resellers should not. 

This position will have a quotas for the number or partners added and revenue generated by the partner channel. 

As we learn, the priorities may shift, so the ideal candidate would have the flexibility and skills to also handle: 
(a) channel partner relationship management (post-recruitment), and 
(b) recruitment of channel partners in other verticals. 

Key Responsibilities 
• Research and proactively contact executive decision makers within target partners. 
• Qualify prospective partners, present ERC value and fit with their business model and industry or solution sales focus. 
• Manage reseller partner sign-up, execute partner agreements, support sales training, schedule application training, and manage the partner relationship (as the number of partners grows, a support person will be added to the channel team). 
• Ensuring resellers are educated, informed and have the necessary collateral and guidance to sustain and grow their ERC business. 

Qualifications 
Required: 
• 5+ years in computer technology industry in a business role (e.g. alliances, marketing, channel or direct sales), ideally for a human resource applications 
• Experience in partner recruitment or management, ideally of channel partners 
• Very strong influencing skills: Confident and credible business person, comfortable with VP-level partner recruitment interactions, strong presenter 
• Self-motivated, upbeat, organized and highly persistent in recruiting follow-up 
• Flexible, team player, open to changes in responsibilities and strategies 
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills 

Desired: 
• Familiar with human resource processes and HR Managers’ challenges 
• Ability to assess prospective resellers’ likelihood of doing proactively solutions selling (versus passive fulfillment) 
• Knowledge and experience with resellers 
• Knowledge and experience with the small to midsized business/enterprise markets 
• Proficient at using salesforce.com or equivalent to manage communications, and WebEx and phone for channel partner recruiting presentations 

Education 
Bachelors degree or equivalent; MBA a plus.
