The older I get, the more I end up seeking qualified professionals in areas where I don't have core competence. The first year that I had a professional do my taxes, he found a $1200 deduction that I'd never have known about, and in general, he saves me far more than I pay him. My taxes are pretty complicated--not only the business but a rental property I co-own with an out-of-state party and various other wrinkles. I usually end up paying (having kept good records and done a lot of prep work) about $200. I use Gerald Hersh in Amherst. I think he's actually led a program for H-T somewhere along the line.
