This Tuesday, the Western MASS .NET Users Group Presents:

Threat Modeling for Web Applications by Robert Hurlbut 

Threat modeling is a security engineering technique used to help
identify threats, attacks, vulnerabilities, and countermeasures that
could affect an application. You can use threat modeling to help shape
your application's design, meet your company's security objectives, and
reduce risk. This talk will discuss specific ways threat modeling
techniques can be applied to the design and development of web
applications. Also, tools to help with this design process will
demonstrated. 
 
Robert Hurlbut is an independent software architect/developer and
consultant and owner of Hurlbut Consulting, Inc. He is also a Microsoft
MVP for Security Development. Robert specializes in application
security, distributed architectures and database architecture and
development. He has spoken at industry conferences, including WIN-DEV,
New England Code Camp, Heartland Developers Conference, DevTeach and
VSLive!. He has a .NET blog at http://weblogs.asp.net/rhurlbut.

>From the South
Travel Interstate 91 North, take Exit 17B (Easthampton). Follow Route
141 to Easthampton. At the foot of the mountain, turn right onto East
St. Follow for approx. 2.3 miles. Turn left on to Ferry St. Follow to
the end. Take a left onto Pleasant St. Go approx 3/10 of a mile,
Eastworks will be on your left at 116 Pleasant St. Enter the main
entrance and take the stairs or elevator to the 3rd floor. The Atalasoft
office is just past the Eastworks office on the left, Suite 321

>From the North
Travel Interstate 91 South; take Exit 18 (Northampton). Take a right at
the bottom of the ramp. Follow route 5 to Easthampton. Turn right onto
East St. Follow for approx. 1.5 miles. Turn right on to Ferry St. Follow
to the end. Take a left onto Pleasant St. Go approx 3/10 of a mile,
Eastworks will be on your left at 116 Pleasant St. Enter the main
entrance and take the stairs or elevator to the 3rd floor. The Atalasoft
office is just past the Eastworks office on the left, Suite 321.

(if you miss East St. and end up in the town of Easthampton, follow
signs for Rt. 10 north, and take a right at the rotary onto Pleasant St.
Eastworks will be on your right.)
