Hello Jean, We now have 11 offices in ten states collaborating, file sharing and otherwise communicating via Basecamp. We've been using it for over a year. Clients love it because it is so simple to use. From a project management perspective it's been a terrific help, giving everyone with access a view of stages and an accurate timeline. Like Paul mentioned, the file sharing and other tools make for a robust solution. I find its intuitive interface appeals to a variety of users which facilitates adopting the new way of doing things and makes compliance less of an issue. Hi Jean, I just started working with BaseCamp and so far so good. There is a free version which I have not tried but the "Basic" version is $24/mo and has a decent amount of features. There is also a free 30 day trial. http://www.basecamphq.com I've also tried setting up a straight Wiki (using PBWiki) but Basecamp provides a few other tools that make sharing files, project tracking and commenting a bit easier for everyone involved. Another free program to consider is dotProject. We used this to track development for some of our game production, but it's not as intuitive for the client to use. Hope this helps, Paul paul hake productions www.paulhake.com 277 Main St - Suite #301 Greenfield, MA 01301 413.303.9230 ----- Original Message ----- From: Jean <mailto:jean.graef at montague.com> Graef To: hidden-discuss at lists.hidden-tech.net Sent: Wednesday, January 03, 2007 8:22 AM Subject: [Hidden-tech] Best wiki software? ** The author of this post was a Good Dobee. ** You too can help the group ** Fill out the survey/skills inventory in the member's area. ** If you did, we all thank you. _____ We are investigating wikis as a way of sharing & editing information with both internal staff and external clients & partners. We have some experience with a product called ProjectForum. It's pretty nice -- easy to install, easy to use, cross-platform. Can anyone recommend other options we should look at? We looking for something that will handle 10 - 12 groups.
