[Hidden-tech] question about accent marks that become strange characters

Hi,

Here’s an accent mark topic that has stumped me. French accent marks in
emails are arriving as strange characters; computer is Win XP. I’d
appreciate any thoughts on fixing this.

 

Sample of email text: UniversitîUu Quò¬c

Should be: Université  du  Québec (acute accent marks on 2nd and 3rd letters
e  – see bottom of page at http://www.uqam.ca/ if this line is also messed
up)
