Anne, I'm not a software expert, but I think that most install disks for Windows that come with a PC or desktop won't load the OS onto another machine. I could be wrong about that though. And, for what it's worth, Anne, I highly recommend the MacBook. I made the switch after YEARS using PCs, and now I've become an annoying Mac evangelist to all my friends and family.
