[Hidden-tech] Password-protection program?

Jean,

Out of curiosity, why a Windows program? Building this kind of security
using a web based system is not particularly difficult or unusual, but I'm
not sure about doing this through a desktop application. If nothing else
the link to referral URL would be more tenuous.

Not that I know that much about software for that kind of connection other
than the very basics, but it does seem to be a bit unusual. Web based
interfaces for this kind of thing, using AJAX, Flash or even plain HTML are
far more common and can be made to behave very much like a desktop
application. unless this is something you need to interface with an existing
application.

Subject: [Hidden-tech] Password-protection program?

I am looking for a Windows program to provide password-protected access to
content on our members site. The program should be able to:

-- Use a list of user names and passwords to provide access to one or more
Web site directories

-- Provide access based on referral URL and/or the user's IP address

-- Limit the number of concurrent user logins when accessing via referral
URL or IP address

Does anyone know of a program that will do this? I want to avoid using the
built-in security features of Windows.

Jean
