brendan I am sorry to say operating OS9 (classic) and OS10 simultaneously is a very dark and ugly place to be. I tormented myself for a few months and then decided to just go with a full upgrade and bought a used dual processor G4... once I did this I have never EVER had any problems...and have never looked back instead of a love hate relationship with my computer..I have a love, love relationship (ew, that kinda' sounds a little freaky, huh?) anyway, if money is the issue (and when is it NOT?)...I'd suggest a macmini. You owe it to your self to not get mired in the OS 9 vs. OS10 morass. A properly configured mac is a beautiful thing ...why put off the inevitable? or at least, I highly recommend you upgrade to the most recent OS 10.4.9... excuse my ranting..it's just that I feel your pain... just my two cents.
