Jeff, We have Harvard Pilgrim, and changed our plan in April to have a higher deductible and lower monthly premiums. That was a mistake, for three reasons. First, half of whatever extra we would have paid as a premium would have been deductible (since we're both self-employed), but it's not when we pay the medical bill directly (since we don't have high enough medical bills to itemize them); second, just some semi-routine doctors' office tests quickly used up the deductible; and third, now we have to deal with very confusing bills and statements that we didn't have to deal with before. Next year we're going to change back to our previous plan.
