I'm not going to get into a bid discussion on the topic, other than to be perfectly frank, as a customer I don't care how their servers are organized as long as it doesn't affect performance, downtime or the ability to use what I bought. While downtime is possible, a company as big as GoDaddy.com is setup with many redundant datacenters in multiple regional locations. That is not something a local provider is going to be able to provide and still keep costs to match Godaddy.com. Any large company will have people who like or don't like them, if you look for it. In the end I was not making a pitch as the only solution, simply a recommendation. Hello Beverly, A couple of points. GoDaddy's 99.9% uptime guarantee only means you get a very minimal credit against your bill if they are ever down for more than an hour a month, AND you complain about it. It doesn't mean they are always up that much, just that they'll give you a couple bucks off (if that) if they are ever down, which CAN happen. We've been doing web hosting and domain registration since 1997 in the Pioneer Valley, and have over 400 satisfied clients. We also take a personal interest in our clients' success, something that GoDaddy cannot do because of its sheer size and scale. Not everyone's experience with GoDaddy's hosting is as positive as Elin's. My sysadmin says they vastly over-pack their servers (as in, there isn't really all that hard drive space allocated, they just rely on the 80/20 rule and pack-em in like sardines). You can get more feedback about GoDaddy here: http://www.webhostingreviewdirectory.com/hosts/Go-Daddy-Hosting.html We've just upgraded to new, state-of-the-art servers and would be happy to discuss all your hosting, web design, search engine optimization, and other internet marketing needs at any time. Plus, we're based in Holyoke and Chicopee, so we're about as local to you as you can get...
