[Hidden-tech] Comcast v. Verizon

I had something similar happen to me when I moved literally a mile up
the road from a condo to a house. Verizon told me that their CO had to
be upgraded and they couldn't get me DSL for over three weeks. I
couldn't live on a dial up modem so I gave Crocker a call after reading
a bunch of praise on this list last year. Crocker had me going inside
of a week. Once Verizon found out that I was changing providers, THEN
they decided they wanted to help, but I stayed with crocker. Verizon
lost a 5 year customer and wouldn't help until they absolutely had to.

I do like Crocker. True, they are slightly more expensive, but they
threw me a deal if I prepaid for the year. Their speeds are much faster
than Verizon's and to date I don't remember any time that the DSL has
been down.
