Well for affordability and ease of use, one of the best out in the market in it's price range is Netgear's SC101. It's about $130 and contains two slots for hard drives. You can pick what kind and size drives u want, and i beleive it has the capability to do raid 1 or 0. Just plug the power in, plug it into the network, and run their software. The drives are PATA (ide) and do not come with it but pata drives can be had real inexpensively (last one I got was a 300 gig for $100). For the money it costs I'd recomend it. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary Malmros" <malmros at verizon.net> To: "Hidden Tech" <Hidden-discuss at lists.hidden-tech.net> Sent: Friday, May 26, 2006 10:30 AM Subject: [Hidden-tech] Looking for good external backup/storagedevices/systems for Windows XP > ** Be a Good Dobee and help the group, you must be counted to post . > ** Fill out the survey/skills inventory in the member's area. > > > Hey folks, > > I'm a good backer-upper, but am hampered by the fact that I'm only using > DVDs, which won't hold all of my data much less an image of my hard drive. > I want to get an external backup/storage device that I can use for image > backups of my hard drive as well as backups of selected data (incremental > type things).
