We have T-mobile. I have absolutely no love for them, but I am impressed in that I have service in Canada. I do get wacked for a roaming charge...about 70 cents / min, but I still have service. And that service is where there are no power lines for about 3 miles, in deeper woods than most folks care to wander. Nowhere in the US have I received a roaming charge. Service is in some places in Florence, MA, and in a few of the Hill Towns. Everywhere that I have business in New England it also works. We have the $30/mo plan. Incidently, having service has more to do with what is configured in the chip in the phone than what the company offers. As I understand it, most telcos don't own the cell towers they use. The contract use on them. The chip in the phone tells the tower if it can use that one.
