I've yanked a T1 circuit out of the smart jack while talking on the phone and you don't hear a click. Couple that with a PoE switch and a UPS powering that switch, the firewall and T1 CPE and you are more reliable than a single ISDN PRI/DSL combo. For Business we will be launching our Hosted IP Telephony system (Virtual PBX, IP-Centrex) in a couple months. I'm finishing up my nomadic E911 service testing now. With our service, we can control the entire network from the phone to the PSTN and guarantee quality. I'm working on a Residential VoIP over POTS service for the late summer. I'll deliver a POTS line to your house but it will be VoIP to me. The POTS is generated from my equipment in the Verizon CO so you have the reliability of POTS but the features of VoIP, best of both worlds. VoIP can be made to be *much* more reliable than traditional TDM based PBX services, it just needs to be engineered properly. -Matt > > David > > David Fried Oppenheim > Creative Constructs > www.CreativeConstructs.com > 413-527-5999 > > On 2/27/06, Jean Graef <jean.graef at montague.com> wrote: ** Be a > Good Dobee and help the group, you must be counted to post . > ** Fill out the survey/skills inventory in the member's area. > > > > > We currently use Verizon for local and long distance phone, > conference calling, caller ID, and call forwarding.
