[Hidden-tech] Help for designing Online Carpool Map

The only thing I would worry about with using public services is security.
I know that there are a lot of concerns about providing information on
school age children over the Internet and if the school already has a system
that includes some level of login security (making sure only those
associated with the school can access the maps), then integrating something
like Google maps (which I suggested in my earlier email) into your own site
makes more sense. From a development standpoint, it's not a lot of work
either, you just need a way for people to add and remove their points.

Actually, that's all that Frappr is, it's just using the Google Maps API and
a bit of a backend.

If all you're wanting to do is a simple map showing where everyone lives you
could use Frappr! (http://www.frappr.com). You could make a web based "pin
map" that shows the locations you want.

Hello all-

I am working with a group of parents of Hartsbrook School to help the school
and its members conserve energy. On of our initiatives is to facilitate
carpool coordination. I am looking for interactive online map software that
we could put on our website to help families find each other. Does anyone
have any suggestions or guidance?

Tim
