We are looking for people to write occasional articles for a new technology column in the Knowledge Base Editor's Digest http://www.montaguelab.com/Infotech/publicdigest.htm. This is an opportunity to gain recognition for your technical expertise and business savvy with an audience of information professionals in global corporations, large nonprofits, and federal government agencies. We are looking for technology practitioners who have hands-on experience creating and integrating applications, developing architectures, converting data, or creating metadata schemas. We are not looking for freelance writers, project managers, or management consultants.

If you are selected as an author, we will give you a by-line, a bio page on our Web site, and editorial assistance in planning and polishing your work. We'll even give you the right to publish elsewhere if you choose.

Articles should be written for a non-technical audience that includes both senior-level executives, CIO's and information managers in all information disciplines (IT, library science, journalism, knowledge management, business management). 

Topics might include but are not limited to:

-- Survey of application prototyping tools suitable for end users

-- Integration of disparate information systems

-- Impact of Web Services and Service-Oriented Architecture on application development

-- Metadata development and integration across business functions and applications

-- Changing models of software development and information management

-- Practical applications of semantic web technologies and ontologies

-- Pros and cons of technology approaches for managing images -- photos, drawings, videos, etc.

-- Information management trends, especially those that cross functional or disciplinary lines

-- Industry-specific or vertical market content and collaboration technolgies (e.g. pharmaceuticals, law firms, sales force automation, etc)
